Candidate will be a member of the Legal Department and will assist the department lawyers with all aspects of their work. Will support entity formation and maintenance as well as assisting the attorneys with aspects of their real estate transactions. Supports the attorneys in the legal department with their daily tasks. Assist with entity formation and maintenance, including drafting and filing formation documents, preparation and filing of annual reports, complying with filing requirements, obtaining certificates of good standing, obtaining EIN numbers, and similar tasks. Interact with staff attorneys, outside counsel, and other staff regarding all aspects of entities. Real estate transactional support, such as ordering and managing legal and tax good standings, judgment and lien searches and similar. Transactional closing support, including, without limitation, creation of execution copies of documents, collection of signatures, witnessing and/or notarizing documents, distribution of copies/originals and delivery in escrow. Revising, proofreading, blacklining, filing, saving and distributing documents. Production of paper and electronic closing binders. Assist Attorneys with special projects. Provide daily support to legal team. Provide support to treasury and accounting teams on entity and other legal questions.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Bachelor Degree and/or Paralegal Certification preferred. 2-5 years' corporate and/or transactional paralegal experience. Other relevant experience will be considered. Interest and experience in affordable housing, community development and working with non-profit organizations a plus. Knowledge of entity types. Transactional experience is helpful. Ability to write clearly and draft simple letters and basic documents. Strong drafting, written and verbal communication skills. Detail oriented with ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent organizational and filing skills. Excellent command of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other computer applications.
