A law firm seeks a passionate and skilled Family Attorney to join its growing team in Dallas, TX. This full-time position offers an opportunity to represent clients in a wide range of family law matters, including prenuptial agreements, divorce, child custody, and spousal support. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling sensitive issues such as child abuse, domestic violence, and child custody disputes while maintaining composure in high-stress, emotionally charged situations. The role provides an excellent opportunity to assist clients during some of the most challenging times in their lives.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with paralegals and senior partners to ensure efficient progression of family law cases through the litigation process.
  • Analyze clients' situations, develop effective strategies, and provide practical legal solutions to their problems.
  • Maintain and organize client files, ensuring all documents are accurate and up to date.
  • Manage the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and court orders.
  • Represent clients in contested divorce cases, child custody hearings, and related family law matters.
  • Advocate effectively in court and during negotiations, especially in emotionally sensitive and high-stress circumstances.

Requirements:

  • Must be a licensed attorney in Texas (must not be awaiting bar results).
  • A Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school are required.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in family law and real estate matters, particularly in marital property division.
  • Previous experience in criminal justice or other legal areas is preferred.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, particularly in high-stress and emotionally charged situations.
  • In-depth understanding of family law principles, child custody issues, and the legal implications of domestic violence.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of cases efficiently while ensuring high standards of client service.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
  • Bachelor's degree with a legal background.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Texas State Bar is required.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and drafting skills.
  • Effective negotiation and communication skills for managing sensitive family law matters.
  • Ability to handle complex family law issues, including divorce, custody, spousal support, and property division.
  • Organizational skills to maintain client files and documents in an orderly and timely manner.
  • Ability to remain composed and professional in emotionally charged and high-stress situations.
