A growing and dynamic law firm specializing in Intellectual Property (IP) disputes, litigation, and appeals is seeking an associate attorney to join its Newport Beach, CA office. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 2 years of experience in patent or IP litigation and possess strong academic credentials, excellent communication skills, and a passion for IP law. Duties

• Handle IP litigation cases, focusing on patent disputes and appeals.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents related to IP matters.
• Provide legal analysis and strategic counsel to clients in the technology and intellectual property sectors.
• Manage discovery, depositions, and pretrial activities.
• Participate in court appearances and hearings as required.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex IP cases and litigation strategy.
• Work closely with clients, providing updates and advising on case progress.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in patent or intellectual property litigation (preferred).
• Admission to the California State Bar.
• Undergraduate or graduate degree in a technical field (preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High academic performance and exceptional legal research and analytical skills.
• USPTO Registration as a Patent Attorney (preferred).
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing deadlines.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Undergraduate or graduate degree in a technical field such as engineering, computer science, or a related discipline (preferred).

Certifications

• Active membership in the California State Bar.
• USPTO Registered Patent Attorney (preferred).
