ProfileSenior Trial Attorney The candidate will handle civil litigation from inception until conclusion through settlement, dismissal or trial and appeal if necessary. Will work closely with our insured clients and the firm and other claims professionals to resolve matters as expeditiously and efficiently as possible. Handle cases with moderate to high exposure pending throughout the State of Louisiana. Provide legal advice to insured clients, claims professionals, and/or other company representatives as needed. Independently conduct pre-trial workup and discovery to position matters for resolution. Prepare pleadings and documents necessary to advance matters through the litigation process. Interact with and in a timely manner keeps informed our insured clients and claims professionals. Negotiate settlements. Participate in Mediations, Arbitrations, and Pre-Trial Hearings. Independently handle First Chair Trial duties. Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Louisiana. Should have federal Bar membership in the Eastern District of Louisiana is mandatory. Should have federal Bar membership in the Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana is highly desirable. Should have 7+ years of experience defending auto and general liability matters, including first-chair jury trial experience. Must demonstrate the ability to logically analyze issues, and clearly communicate legal analysis to our insured clients and claims professionals. Must be able to work in a paperless environment. Must be able to use Legal Files Electronic Case Management System. Must be proficient with Microsoft Outlook, and Word, as well as Adobe Acrobat. Must be functional regarding Microsoft Power Point and Skype for Business.
