Licensing Support Specialist The candidate responds to inquiries from customers in a competent, professional and timely manner. Serves as a liaison between internal and external customers and Licensing staff, triaging inquiries to assigned Licensing staff. Provides support and assistance to the Licensing and Licensing Compliance staff. Actively supports and complies with all firm corporate and program policies and procedures. Responds to customersâ€™ inquiries received via telephone, electronic means (fax, web and email) and mail relating to firm Licensing and Intellectual Property, including, but not limited to, the Licensing inbox and the Licensing voicemail. Conveys Licensing information to customers utilizing various firm databases and search functions. Routinely answers questions concerning the Material Transfer Agreement; the deposit, processing and release of biological materials; and information related to firm Licensing and Intellectual Property. Supports Customer Service and Licensing staff by providing information thereby assisting them with timely completion of order processing and initiation of license negotiations, respectively. Serves as the primary liaison between customers and Licensing staff. Answers customer inquires, and resolves customer complaints or concerns within the scope of this position, but is able to recognize when assistance is required by the Licensing staff. Provide support to the Licensing group or the Licensing Compliance group as needed. These functions can include: answering routine, information based questions, processing agreed upon Material Transfer Agreements, agreed upon Deposit Agreements and invoicing requests in a timely manner. Supports CAU and Licensing Compliance processes by proactively reviewing executed Deposit Agreements for financial and reporting obligations, tracking accessioned materials through the CAU and preparing royalty payments within contract specifications. The Licensing Support Specialist will also prepare, support, and serve as the primary contact for external technology transfer distribution reports for materials purchased under the Material Transfer Agreement. Enters pending and executed contracts and data in the Inteum database.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have B.S. or B.A. degree. B.S. in science or related discipline is preferred and 1-2 years of related work experience with demonstrated increasing levels of responsibilities. Experience in technical service, customer service, intellectual property and/or experience in a paralegal environment is desired. Proficiency with databases is required. Strong scientific, financial or business background is needed. Strong verbal and written skills is must.
