A law firm seeks a skilled and motivated Insurance Defense Attorney to join its legal team in Oakland, CA. This role is well-suited for an attorney with experience in construction defect and general liability litigation who thrives in a collaborative and dynamic environment. Duties:

  • Handle a diverse caseload involving construction defect and general liability matters.

  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.

  • Represent clients in court proceedings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal professionals to develop case strategies.

  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case updates and legal guidance.

  • Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients' best interests.

  • Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards.

Requirements:

  • 2-6 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably in a law firm setting.

  • Strong courtroom presence with deposition and trial experience (preferred).

  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

  • Effective communication and advocacy abilities, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to independently manage a caseload while working collaboratively with team members.

  • Client-focused approach with a dedication to achieving favorable case outcomes.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar in good standing.

Skills:

  • Strong litigation and case management abilities.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting of legal documents.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
