Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a skilled and motivated Insurance Defense Attorney to join its legal team in Oakland, CA. This role is well-suited for an attorney with experience in construction defect and general liability litigation who thrives in a collaborative and dynamic environment. The successful candidate will manage a caseload independently while working closely with colleagues and clients to achieve optimal results. This hybrid position offers flexibility for remote work.
Duties:
Handle a diverse caseload involving construction defect and general liability matters.
Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
Represent clients in court proceedings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal professionals to develop case strategies.
Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case updates and legal guidance.
Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients' best interests.
Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards.
Requirements:
2-6 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably in a law firm setting.
Strong courtroom presence with deposition and trial experience (preferred).
Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
Effective communication and advocacy abilities, both written and verbal.
Ability to independently manage a caseload while working collaboratively with team members.
Client-focused approach with a dedication to achieving favorable case outcomes.
Education:
Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
Active membership in the California State Bar in good standing.
Skills:
Strong litigation and case management abilities.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Proficiency in legal research and drafting of legal documents.
Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
Strategic thinker with problem-solving capabilities.
