Attorney (Entry Level) The candidate reports to: Chief Legal Counsel. The Attorney's key duty is to assist the Chief Legal Officer with drafting and reviewing contracts, commercial leases, and other business documents. The Attorney will be responsible for researching, writing, and understanding complex legal issues that will arise. Will draft initial documentation for review, including: letters, memos (internal/external), contracts, notices, leases, agreements, and other legal documents as required. Review/analyze the sufficiency of documentation as it relates to state or federal law. Review and analyze legal documents to determine whether conditions and terms have been met. Review ordinances or other regulations to ensure legality of proposed business practices. Collect and send out documents, discovery requests, and other information as directed. Edit drafts of all documents for consistent use of defined terms and accuracy of cross-references. Prepare, obtain, and organize required contracts, disclosures, and other legal documents. Prepare and file all required governmental filings, such as those for the State, or other applicable agency. Regularly communicate with clients and others individuals. Maintain a tickler system for yearly entity meetings, lease action items, filings, insurance, and other meetings or deadlines. Continually compile information, review, document, and update customer files. Negotiate and advise client.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have J.D. Degree. Must be licensed to practice in Utah. A general understanding of Utah's laws, regulations, and court system is required. Should have exceptional legal writing skills. Must have excellent communication and organization skills Should have research skills. Must have excellent error detection and superb proofreading skills. Need to have an understanding or knowledge of compliance. Must understand complex standards and regulations and implement information into appropriate reference manuals or documents. Computer Skills: Microsoft office products. G Suite console -- Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc. Must be familiar with IOS. The ability to work quickly and accurately is required.
