Civil Litigation Certified Paralegal Responsibilities : Will assist attorney with all aspects of discovery including propounding and responding to written discovery, issuing deposition notices and subpoenas, and creating evidence binders for hearings. Assist attorney with drafting shells for pleadings and law & motion matters. Ability to manage pre-trial assignments and preparation for trial, including coordinating witnesses and travel, trial exhibits, documents and charts, trial notebook, and subpoenas. Work well with others including firm’s contract attorneys, receptionists, and assistants. Communicate with clients and attorneys about case status and preparation. Create/maintain case files and knowledge of differences between discovery, pleadings, etc. Manage motion hearing dates, calendaring all litigation deadlines, active case lists, etc.

Qualification and Experience

Requirements : Must have a Paralegal certification from accredited institution. 6+ years of prior experience as a litigation paralegal. Knowledge of CA/Federal civil litigation rules and deadlines required. High proficiency w/ Microsoft Suite (including Word, Outlook, Excel, Acrobat). Strong command of English spelling and grammar usage. Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and ability to multi-task. Ability to think and act independently and finish projects w/ minimal supervision. Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills. Professional appearance and demeanor. Will be subject to background check
