Paralegal Responsibilities : Will research law, investigates facts, and prepare documents to assist the project leadership by performing a variety of support duties. Writing briefs, position papers, claims, letters. Background in construction law is a plus. Working with contractors is a plus. Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes. Prepare legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, contracts, buy-sell agreements, rental agreement and leases. Investigate facts, research project documents and out side sources, internet, municipal codes etc. Perform other duties such as scheduling appointments, providing information to callers, taking dictation, composing and typing routine correspondence, and reading and routing incoming mail. Prepare documents and maintains document file. Prepare and edit position papers for construction claims. Files correspondence and legal documents in office filing system. Ensures proper indexing and filing of original legal documents. Work with others in a fast pace environment with large amounts of money at stake. Join in meetings, discussions, Dispute Review Board meetings. Articulate issues.

Qualification and Experience

Requirements : Must have 5+ years of relevant professional experience. Legal degree preferred. Problem Solving/Analysis. Thoroughness. Teamwork Orientation. Communication Proficiency. Initiative. Personal Effectiveness/Credibility. Business Acumen. Presentation Skills. Technical Capacity. Excellent writing skills.
