Underwriter The candidate will prepare and evaluate title reports to determine insurability and satisfaction of title underwriting requirements. Perform risk analysis and problem resolution on technical issues. Effectively communicate with parties to the transaction regarding the requirements to close the transaction. Based on the conditions of a transaction, determine acceptable underwriting risks and when necessary work closely with underwriting authorities to obtain required approvals. Organize and properly maintain the necessary documentation for a complete underwriting file. Serve as technical resource for staff, internal and external customers. Provide quality service to internal and external clients in a positive and professional manner by communicating promptly with solution oriented thinking. Work with internal and external customers to ensure real estate transactions are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Must have College degree or equivalent related work experience. Should preferably have prior real estate and/or paralegal experience. Understanding of title research and underwriting functions is needed. Technically proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office applications (especially Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point) and other computer applications is must.
