ProfileAttorney Duties: The candidate will do research, interpret and follow State and Federal law, regulations, policies, manuals and rules as they apply to the work done by the agency. Assignments come from all the various agency programs including human resources and supervisors, through receipt of appeals and lawsuits and requests of the court and community partners as needed. Will be responsible for representing the Agency in all types of litigation including administrative forums, Administrative Appeals, District Courts (both State and Federal) and appellate courts. Responsible for providing advice and counsel to Agency staff and Leadership in regards to duties, responsibilities, obligations and potential liabilities. Draft documents as needed to clarify Agency mission and goals for staff, courts and community partners.
Qualification and Experience
Qualification: The candidate should have Juris Doctorate degree, Certificate of admission to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Kansas or temporary permit to practice law issued by the Supreme Court of Kansas at the time of hire.
