Paralegal Technician II The candidate duties will include assisting attorneys with research, document drafting and assembly, scheduling, document- and case-management, and other duties as assigned. Will also play a central role in the department’s handling of health-care external appeals. Formatting Pleadings and other legal documents in Word for the attorneys. Proofreading legal documents, letters, etc. Calendaring attorney meetings and calls. Setting up Skype meetings and conference calls, reserving conference rooms. Assisting with External Appeal cases. Reviewing, organizing, scanning and maintaining table of bankruptcy notices, class action notifications, and security breach notices. Maintaining Contracts spreadsheet and communicating with personnel regarding status of contracts. Preparing certified mailings, UPS shipments, assisting with distribution of mail. Performing duties of the Docket Clerk, which include: Drafting or helping the attorney finalize a draft of a Notice of Hearing or other legal document; Setting up and calendaring the hearing in Outlook; Mailing and emailing the pleading to all parties; Arranging and facilitating Skype telephone conference meetings if appropriate; Recording hearings with recording device or through Skype; Saving those recordings to a Recordings file; Opening, maintaining, updating, and closing docket files for administrative actions; tracking deadlines for filings and required notice periods for hearings; Other duties as necessary. Must have Graduation from an accredited program in paralegal studies. An earned JD or 12 months at a Paralegal Technician I level is considered qualifying. Application Deadline Date: 12/29/2019.
