Duties: Prepare and interpret legal documents. Organize and prepare legal files. Conduct legal and factual research. Assist with litigation and regulatory matters, including responding to discovery requests. Oversee legal projects and transactions. Perform administrative legal responsibilities. Organize and facilitate meetings as necessary (e.g., creating agendas, taking notes and action items, drafting correspondence, and following up to see action items through to completion). Exercise absolute discretion and professionalism at all times and exhibit a willingness to work extra hours as needed. Work closely with Galileo’s attorneys on Galileo-related meetings, initiatives, and projects.
Qualification and ExperienceQualifications: Should have 2+ years prior experience in a legal assistant/paralegal role, preferably in an in-house setting. Experience coordinating and driving legal projects to successful completion. Experience in editing and proofreading. Knowledge and understanding of the legal requirements involved in specific contracts. Possesses superior attention to detail in order to spot inconsistencies in contracts. Must have excellent analytical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and G-Suite. Strong ability to multitask and manage multiple requests across various departments and subject matter areas. Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle time-sensitive requests. Preferred: Experience working for a financial services or fintech company. Experience e-filing via PACER and state court online filing systems. Proficiency with LexisNexis and Relativity.
