Portland office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks timber and agribusiness transactions associate attorney with 2-4 years of experience. The candidate will interface with colleagues across offices and practice groups and spend time on telephone and video calls with clients. Will independently produce client-ready documents and work in teams with others on complex transactions. Organize and understand large volumes of contracts and other data. Coordinate and work with service providers, including investment bankers, title insurance companies and escrow agents, environmental consultants, and similar transaction support specialists. Negotiate and document complex transactions. Work on a wide variety of transactional and operational matters for a diverse range of clients in the timberlands, forest products, and agribusiness sectors. Play significant roles in transactions involving timberlands and mill acquisitions and dispositions, farmland transactions, vineyard and winery transactions, financing transactions, forest management and operations transactions, entity formation and governance matters, and other matters. Should ideally have law firm experience representing clients in mergers and acquisitions, debt financing, general commercial transactions, corporate formation and governance matters, and other business transactions, with preference given to those with prior business or legal experience serving clients in the timberlands, forest products, and/or agribusiness industries. Should already have, or be willing to develop, a blended corporate and real estate expertise.
