Employment Attorney The candidate will be responsible for providing proactive legal advice and counsel to managers and human resources in all aspects of employment such as hiring, discipline, investigations, terminations, and employee mobility issues. Provide strategic legal and practical business advice in various employment related issues to HR and business management. Manage employment litigation, arbitration, negotiations, or other disputes. Manage and coordinate outside counsel on labor, employment or compliance issues including outside counsel budgets and work product. Create and conduct training on employment law related matters. Lead and partner with HR with creating and revising company policies, procedures, and programs. Collaborate with other functions within the legal department and company to drive strategic objectives. Monitor legal trends in employment law and proactively develop strategy to address.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have Juris Doctorate Degree. Should have 6+ years of experience (mixture of employment at top tier law firm and/or as in-house counsel). Employment law experience, including employment litigation, administrative charges, and employee relations investigations is required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work cross functionally and with global, diverse teams is needed. Experience in-house at technology company is preferred. Trade secret/employee mobility litigation is desired. Experience with OFCCP audits/AAPs is a plus. Familiarity with data privacy is helpful. Global experience is an asset.
