ProfileAssociate - 1st Party Duties: Assist partners in the management of a robust property insurance coverage practice; Actively assist in the litigation of declaratory matters for non-coverage, and the defense of contractual and bad faith litigation in both federal and state court from inception through trial; Conduct examinations under oath of clientâ€™s insureds and generate timely coverage opinions on issues ranging from fraud and arson to negligent construction, wear/tear, improper maintenance, vacancy, insurable interest and other ISO-policy exclusions; Take depositions of insureds, public adjusters, engineers, general and subcontractors, roofing and building inspectors, police and fire personnel and cause and origin investigators; Prepare and present claims personnel, independent adjusters and retained experts and engineers for their depositions; Draft and argue discovery and dispositive motions, including those pursuant to Â§2-615, Â§2-619, Â§2-1005; Rule 12(b)(6) and Rule 56; Attend status and motion hearings in state and federal courts in Chicago, its collar counties, as well as Indiana, Missouri and Iowa; Review claim and underwriting files at the time of case referral and prepare comprehensive evaluation and budget reports to the client, along with regular monthly status reports thereafter; Assist partners and insurance clients with the investigation of fire, hail and other property losses, including the coordination of scene inspections, protection of and notice to adverse parties of subrogation rights, and development of inspection, evidence collection and spoliation protocol; Assist partners in marketing efforts, including legal articles, presentations and speaking engagements.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Good standing with the Illinois Bar. Excellent academic credentials. 3-5 years of experience in first party insurance coverage. Strong communication skills.

Nothing good will come from people working in an unhappy environment.Pros : The benefits are not bad at all here. At the end of the year, we see a bonus and have the annual Christmas party.
