A reputable law firm specializing in immigration, family, and criminal law is seeking a full-time, in-person Family & Removal Immigration Associate to join its Boston, MA office. The role involves handling removal proceedings, family-based immigration cases, and humanitarian applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in immigration law and a passion for advocating on behalf of clients in complex legal matters.

Location:

  • Boston, MA

Duties:

  • Prepare and submit affirmative applications to USCIS, CBP, and DOS for family and humanitarian cases.
  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before immigration courts.
  • Advocate for clients in family courts, handling family-based immigration matters.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda, motions, and briefs for EOIR, BIA, and federal courts.
  • Assist in federal immigration cases and litigation.
  • Draft legal documents and motions to support immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 2-6 years of experience in immigration law, particularly in removal and family immigration cases.
  • Active Massachusetts Bar membership or eligibility to waive into the Massachusetts Bar.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing, with a strong focus on immigration law.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts or eligibility to waive into the Massachusetts Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing skills, with attention to detail in drafting briefs, memoranda, and legal motions.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and Portuguese (required).
  • Excellent advocacy skills, with experience representing clients in immigration and family courts.
  • Ability to manage a complex caseload and work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and legal teams.
