Vice President, Legal Counsel The candidate duties will include: Represent the interests of the company; negotiate, draft, review and revise leases and other documents for both retail and office departments. Assist property management department in addressing issues that arise in dealings with tenants. Investigate/review issue; counsel; draft and negotiate service contracts; interpret contracts and provide legal advice. Research and counsel leasing department on various issues that may arise involving existing tenants and leases or potential tenants. Assist company from a legal perspective in addressing requests made by tenants for particular information, documentation (SNDA, consents, etc.). Assist construction department from a legal perspective in addressing construction or lien issues that arise. Review issue; research if necessary; and seek consensus or solution to issue; will negotiate or handle issue with third parties as necessary. Represent and assist hotel department in negotiating various agreements for hotels draft and negotiate service contracts; interpret contracts and provide advice. Supervise and coordinate with outside counsel in litigation matters; review pleadings and memos; assist in responding to discovery. Assist Collections Department with review of lease provisions and default notices. Represent and assist various departments in reviewing and negotiating contracts for services. Previous legal experience required, preferably in the real estate area. Must have hands on experience drafting and negotiating leases and commercial contracts. Commercial leasing experience preferred. In house legal experience preferred. Must have Bachelorâ€™s and Law degrees. Continuing legal education as required by relevant bar associates required. Law license is essential. Knowledge of MS Office desired. ICSC membership preferred.
