Job Title: Senior Defense Litigation Associate Attorney - General Liability

Job Location: Stamford, CT (Hybrid remote opportunity)

Job Overview: A well-established law firm is seeking a Senior Defense Litigation Associate Attorney specializing in General Liability to join its dynamic team in Stamford, CT. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a range of defense cases in medical, life sciences, and product liability, handling complex matters involving senior living, healthcare, restaurant/building owners, and manufacturers of FDA-regulated products.

Duties:

  • Take and defend depositions in general and premises liability matters.
  • Conduct in-depth research on legal, medical, and scientific issues, collaborating with senior attorneys on strategy development.
  • Draft comprehensive memoranda, motions (including motions for summary judgment), pleadings, and discovery documents.
  • Prepare detailed reports for clients, including case analysis, deposition summaries, and medical record reviews.
  • Work closely with expert witnesses, assisting in case preparation and testimony.
  • Participate in trial, mediation, and ADR processes, preparing necessary documentation and strategies.
  • Represent clients during courtroom appearances, including oral arguments and discovery conferences.
  • Maintain a target of 1900 billable hours annually.

Requirements:

  • 6-10+ years of experience handling general/premises liability and/or product liability matters, with first-chair deposition and courtroom experience.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar; New Jersey Bar admission is a plus.
  • Strong familiarity with New York Courts.
  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while managing multiple competing deadlines.
  • Self-discipline, conscientiousness, and a sense of responsibility in all professional undertakings.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client relation skills.
  • A professional, cooperative, and flexible attitude.
  • Military experience is welcomed.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar (New Jersey Bar is a plus).

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar.
