ProfileBilingual Staff Attorney The candidate will provide legal services to low and moderate income homeowners on a wide range of issues threatening homeownership, including: mortgage foreclosure, predatory mortgage lending and servicing, home improvement scams, and property tax and code enforcement liens. Interview and conduct intake, document collection and analysis, advise homeowners on their legal rights, negotiate with mortgage lenders and other creditors to preserve homeownership, assisting with administrative claims, and litigating claims in state and federal court. Should have strong oral and written communication skills. Diverse economic, social, and cultural experiences are preferred. Must be bilingual or have substantial proficiency in either Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Tagalog, Vietnamese, or Korean in addition to English. Should have CA Bar admittance or CA Bar pending. Previous exposure to the subject area of mortgage lending practices, home retention for homeowners and other relevant experience is a plus. Deadline: 1 April, 2018.
