Librarian III - Assistant Administrator / Information Services The candidate supervises information technology activities by overseeing the development of library webpages and online presence, researching and reviewing websites and online databases, monitoring and evaluating subscription databases, basic genealogy assistance, designing and maintaining promotional materials, maintaining online calendars. Supervises general library services by participating in the hiring process, scheduling and assigning staff, evaluating and monitoring staff activities, investigating complaints, comments and suggestions, and approving time and attendance. Manages the library in the absence of the Library Administrator. Effectively advocate for the library by explaining services, programs, policies and procedures to community at large. Negotiate and resolve disputes arising from fines and/or fees assessed on overdue accounts, respond promptly to complaints and/or compliments. Provide general reference and informational services at either Youth Desk or at Service Desk by assisting customers in locating materials, performing readers advisory, demonstrating knowledge of current literature and the library collection, assisting with computer use and providing basic instruction as required, operating and troubleshooting equipment. Master degree level of study in Library Science or Information Science preferred. Should have 3+ years up to and including five years. Experience in working with computers is highly desirable, as are excellent communication and organizational skills.
