This role is designed for individuals with 0-3 years of experience in insurance coverage and defense matters, both nationally and internationally. The attorney will handle complex insurance cases, including coverage disputes and declaratory judgment actions while collaborating with a dynamic team of professionals. Duties

  • Manage a diverse caseload of insurance coverage and defense matters from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and case analysis to develop robust litigation strategies.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and other essential court documents.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.
  • Advise clients on complex legal issues and provide strategic counsel to minimize risk and achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Represent clients in various legal settings, including court hearings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Conduct discovery tasks such as interrogatories, depositions, document reviews, and examinations under oath.
  • Analyze insurance policies in detail to assess coverage obligations and potential liabilities.
  • Draft comprehensive coverage opinions and position letters.
  • Negotiate coverage disputes with opposing counsel and insurers.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys, mentoring junior staff and ensuring comprehensive case handling.
  • Participate in business development efforts, including client outreach, networking events, and thought leadership activities.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years of experience in insurance defense and coverage litigation.
  • Ability to independently manage a caseload while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey, and/or Pennsylvania.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar admission in New York, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania.
