Litigation Paralegal The candidate will review file and discuss with attorney, discuss things unique to that particular case with attorney prior to preparing complaint. Intro phone call to client. Preparing the Complaint and related docs. Prepare written discovery to Defendants. Send litigation questionnaire to Plaintiff. Order all records and bills that haven’t been ordered. Order Defendants DMV records. Basics of calendaring and locating court dates/court department rules on court website. Basics of discovery - propounding and responding. Depositions – setting, hiring court reporter/videographer, notices, preparing docs for attending attorney, obtaining transcripts/video. Common responsive pleadings (i.e. Response to DME, Response to Depo Ntc with RFPs, Oppo to Mtn, etc.). Navigating a case in federal court. Trial/Arb. preparations. Settlement checklist, final distribution, closing a file. Must have a Paralegal Certificate.
