Tax Law Clerk / Paralegal The candidate will assist with tax consulting and legal work, including but not limited to legal research, drafting of contracts, deeds and other legal documents. Assistance with tax planning implementations, including creation of legal entities, application for tax exemption and permits for new businesses. Research Puerto Rico, State, and Federal tax laws. Drafting of memorandums, contracts, and other corporate documents. Creation of legal entities. Preparation and filing of tax exemption applications. Prepare for and attend client meetings. Assistance with the development of tax strategies and tax plannings for individuals and entities, in Puerto Rico and abroad.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred. Juris Doctor preferred. CPA required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish. Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills. Able to work well in a team environment, follow instructions and meet deadlines. General understanding of US and Puerto Rico corporate and tax laws. Experience in drafting of deeds and contracts, creation of legal entities and/or tax return preparation (preferred).
