Associate Counsel The candidate will primarily be responsible for drafting, negotiating and finalizing contracts for the North American Health business, management and resolution of disputes and litigation, providing legal counsel and strategic advice on labor and employment and employee benefits law, and various other matters as assigned. Will be responsible for providing general legal support relating to contracts for all functional areas, including, Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales, Procurement, R&D, Information Management, and Human Resources,; support for the North America contract management process and procedures, including ongoing review and updating of procedural documents and training of employee users; management and resolution of disputes and litigation relating to suppliers, employment matters, and products liability; and support Legal Director with handling employment and employee benefits matters. Must have a law degree from an accredited law school and be admitted to a state bar. Should have 4-5 years of legal experience and be well versed as a generalist capable of rendering practical and clear legal advice. Must have experience in the areas of drafting, review and negotiation of contracts. Should have experience in managing disputes and litigation involving contracts and other matters, and creating internal processes that ensure compliance with all laws, rules and regulations of the jurisdictions in which the company does business. An understanding of State and Federal procurement (laws, process and procedures), data protections laws, and intellectual property considerations i.e., development, creation, and retention is preferred. Prior in-house counsel experience or experience in corporate/large organization setting is desired.
