Court Operations Supervisor The candidate in the Criminal Division at the Ramsey County Law Enforcement Center. Under the general supervision of the Criminal Court Manager, this is a highly responsible supervisory position that requires technical work. Work involves the direct supervision of subordinate staff and serving as supervisor of a work unit. Directly supervises and coordinates the work of all subordinate staff responsible for the work-flow of case entry, case management, bail and bond processing, public service at the front counter, and calendar assembly. Personally responsible for the management of several division reports, processing high level custody issues, facilities management, assisting with prison and workhouse commitments. Back up for Court Operations Manager when not present. Also, acts as a backup for daily division work including clerking court sessions. Liaison to the Jail and Sheriff's office, Transportation department, Warrant office, BCA and other justice partners regarding custody court cases and procedures. Collaborates with the Court Manager, division management team and staff in adopting policies and procedures. Directs the work-flow of the division to ensure that work is fairly distributed, priority work is handled promptly and deadlines are met. Develops, recommends and implements new policies and procedures to comply with current statutes and regulations as they pertain to the division; and simplify work processes so that the division operates more efficiently. Provides orientation to staff members regarding new rules and legislation pertinent to the division, and updates appropriate manuals for current use.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have completed Graduation from an approved high school or vocational school or equivalent Associates Degree in paralegal studies or related field plus 2 years of experience working in a legal environment; OR 5 years of experience working in a legal environment. Should have supervisory experience OR two years of experience as a lead worker OR graduation from a Judicial Branch employee development program such as EDGE, LEAD, Merging Minds, or Development in Action (DIA). Bachelor's degree is preferred. Experience working in the Minnesota Judicial Branch court system is desired. Experience with process improvement initiatives and re-engineering is preferred. Experience with effectively handling a challenging customer base is desired.
