Commercial Litigation Paralegal The candidate will be answering phone calls, managing attorney calendars and scheduling appointments, drafting legal documents and correspondence, filing, and organization projects in a fast-paced environment. Provide litigation support, involving such activities as developing and maintaining files and reports; routing complaints to appropriate parties; drafting/coordinating responses to interrogatories, requests for documents, fact investigations and discovery responses, interviews, document reviews/gathering/ productions/indexing. Coordinate, track and communicate the initiation, status and completion of projects to ensure timely satisfaction of legal requirements and business objectives. Perform legal research as requested by attorneys. Communicate with internal clients and outside counsel. Will need to undertake internal and external leadership responsibilities, including, but not limited to, serving and retaining current clients; teaching and training all members of the team; coaching and supporting all members of our team; participating in and assisting with all matters pertaining to firm growth; establishing key community connections and building professional relationships; and establishing credentials in the practice area.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree required in Paralegal Studies or equivalent experience in corporate or private legal practice. Minimum 5 years paralegal experience in commercial litigation. Experience with prioritizing and handling numerous competing demands in a high volume and fast pace environment. Strong PC skills with Microsoft Office as well as the ability to learn and use proprietary computer systems and databases. Acts on projects without being told what to do. Anticipate needs. Demonstrates intellectual intensity and tenacity and a willingness to go the distance to get something done. Lives up to commitments. Works to produce significant output with minimal wasted effort. Excels in critically evaluating and assessing issues and identifying strategies and solutions to move forward. Responds to client and team needs timely and effectively. Exceptional interpersonal skills, a commitment to professionalism, integrity and collegiality, and the ability to work on a wide range of legal matters. Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
