Contracts Specialist - Paralegal The candidate will collaborate with architecture and engineering professionals to identify and mitigate risks and maximize opportunities during the proposal and contract negotiation process. Will primarily be responsible for managing the entire contract administration process, which consists of: reviewing RFQ’s/RFP’s, service fee proposals, contracts, and other legal/contractual documentation; cataloging revisions and comments; researching applicable jurisdictional laws and requirements; obtaining and maintaining certificates of insurance; managing a contract database; preparing change orders, amendments, and sub-consultant agreements; and communicating directly with internal and external clients. Must have Associate degree or Certificate in Business Law, Paralegal Studies, or related field. Bachelor degree in Business Law, Paralegal Studies, or related field is preferred. Should have 5+ years of experience reviewing, revising, negotiating, and preparing contract documentation in a corporate or professional services environment. Must have general understanding of insurance programs, coverages, and certificates applicable to A/E/C industry. Should have exceptional verbal and written legal communication and proofing / editing skills and a demonstrated ability to recognize proper use of grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Must have extensive experience and thorough working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database programs. Should have experience handling confidential information and documentation and willingness to maintain confidentiality. Previous experience within the Architecture / Engineering / Construction industry is preferred. Previous experience with Deltek Vision software is desired. Knowledge of or familiarity on how to research applicable jurisdictional laws or requirements (ie. federal, city/state, MnDOT, EJCDC, AIA) is preferred.
