Firm Attorney - Conflicts and Intake Department
The candidate will handle all aspects of conflicts of interest searching, documentation, and analysis. Review conflict notices and new business intake forms for accuracy of information provided and clarify/correct as necessary. Review Engagement letters. Search/analyze results from conflicts database. Communicate with attorneys for the purpose of evaluating and resolving conflicts issues. Become a power user of the conflicts database; create search logs and reports in the conflict database. Search the internet and understand internet tools (D&B, World-Check, Google, etc.) to gather information on clients, prospective clients, and adverse parties. Prepare/analyze findings from the conflicts database and internet resources. Ensure all potential conflicts are clear before clearing and that all information is accurate and approved by opening a client/matter request. Maintain the integrity of the conflicts in the database. Document all searches in Intapp and clearance emails; preserving an audit trail. Draft waivers, as well as, draft, review, and approve engagement letters. Assist Department Manager with lateral hire due to diligence projects. Provide research assistance on special projects. Back up Department Manager with ethical walls/Wall Builder. Take incoming calls on the Department line and problem solve issues. Assist the department in testing all new software and other duties as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must have a Law degree. Should preferably have 2+ years of experience processing conflicts of interest in a law environment. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues at the Firm, including attorneys and support staff. Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Excel) is essential. Working knowledge of Elite 3E and Intapp a plus. Strong customer service orientation and the ability to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands are needed. Should be flexible in order to function seamlessly in a high volume, time-sensitive environment. Proven ability to problem solve in a methodical, practical manner is desired. Must have the ability to understand and follow specific and detailed instructions as needed and the ability to work in a fast-paced deadline intensive environment.
