ProfileLegal Assistant Duties: Apply systems and word processing skills in the creation, coding, maintenance and modification of a variety of documents and document libraries. Review and analyze documents presented to by third parties, including third party-proposed edits of documents. Exercise strong verbal and written communication skills in working with (i) fellow employees, (ii) vendors, and (iii) vendors’ customers, in solving problems and resolving documentation and other legal issues. Bring an inquisitive, critical thinking approach to responding to each question brought to the Legal Team, with emphasis on (a) seeking to clearly understand the problem or challenge underlying the request, (b) thoughtfully considering possible solutions in light of the relative risks and challenges involved, (c) collaborating with others on (or outside) the Legal Team to propose appropriate solutions to the problem, and (d) completing the legal work needed to deliver the solution decided upon. Provide support and training to employees on an array of legal issues. Assist with maintaining various state filings around the country. Work on corporate matters for which confidentiality may be very important. Provide administrative support to attorneys. Actively participate in company-wide initiatives and help business units and teams attain their goals. Prioritize projects in a manner that addresses the need to meet deadlines. Be present during business hours with minimal absences (per attendance policy). Conduct oneself in a manner consistent with principles.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree is required (a paralegal degree is optional). 2 years of work experience is preferred. Good communication skills (oral & written), adaptability. Organized, analytical, inquisitive, strong work ethic, critical thinker, enjoy solving problems, have strong communication skills (oral & written). Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; experience with SharePoint and InfoPath a plus. Strong MS Word skills.
