Staff Counsel, Labor and Employment Law Candidate will be primarily responsible for providing advice in regard to traditional labor and employment law issues, primarily to employee relations and human resources. Responsibilities will include providing traditional labor law advice on issues such as those arising under the NLRA, LMRA, and NLRB decisions, unauthorized strikes, work stoppages, right to work legislation, negotiating collective bargaining agreements, management of relationships between Fiat Chrysler, employees, unions, and suppliers; and defending Fiat Chrysler against charges filed with the EEOC and state fair employment practices agencies including preparing position statements and responses to requests for information submitted by such agencies. Will provide training to employee relations on labor law matters and human resources on employment law matters, and provide support with respect to employment litigation.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: JD Degree from an ABA-accredited law school and currently licensed to practice law in a state and willing to establish license to practice in the State of Michigan. 5+ years of progressive professional legal experience with labor and employment law issues, employment litigation, and the preparation of responses to charges filed with the EEOC and state fair employment practices agencies. Ability to travel as required Preferred Qualifications:. Work experience as in-house counsel. Experience providing labor law advice on a wide-range of traditional labor law issues, employment litigation experience, and experience preparing position statements in response to charges filed with the EEOC and state fair employment practices agencies. Ability to work collaboratively, negotiate, and generate consensus among those with diverse points of view. Desire to learn and take on new assignments to build legal skills. Strong ability to work well with people, independently and as part of a team. Excellent writing, oral communication, analytical and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving, challenging environment. Ability to multi-task and manage a large volume of concurrent priorities.
