Who are we looking for?

Vital Enterprises is looking for an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its corporate legal department and legal services division—SIFT.  Ideal candidates will be able to shift seamlessly between supporting Vital’s General Counsel and SIFT’s Project/Review Managers and eDiscovery attorneys.  Because we are so heavily involved in eDiscovery and data analytics, paralegals with extensive experience in eDiscovery workflows and a working knowledge of the EDRM will excel.  It is an absolute requirement that you love technology and can pick up new software suites and platforms with ease.

A candidate must have excellent writing, grammar, and punctuation skills.  Rapid proofreading is required and editorial suggestions are encouraged.  Successful candidates will have knowledge of federal and state docketing systems, pleading management, exhibit prep, and witness binder prep.  While we do not often try cases, our clients do and ideal candidates will have experience in all aspects of trial preparation and trial support.  The ability to run Trial Director and support attorneys in depositions and trial is a definite plus.

Our legal department and legal services teams are a small and close-knit group.  We enjoy working with each other and some of us have been together in the practice for 15+ years.  Nonetheless, we have a startup mentality and reward ingenuity and initiative.  We are excited to be adding a new member to our professional family.

This is a remote position.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support General Counsel, Project Managers, Review Managers, in all aspects of litigation.
  • Review and coordinate the response to RFPs, RFAs, Rogs, and other discovery requests.

  • Coordinate project requirements between Project Managers, Review Managers, review teams and eDiscovery attorneys.
  • Monitor matter deadlines and assist teams in meeting them.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state laws, rules and regulations affecting practice areas and eDiscovery, through self-education or participation in continuing legal education, certification programs or professional associations.
  • Assist attorneys in the presentation of digital evidence in depositions and at trial.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience.
  • At least 2 years of litigation experience at a law firm.
  • Experience with the EDRM and all aspects of discovery practice in state and federal courts.
  • Deep technical knowledge of practice-related codes, statutes and regulations.
  • Expertise with the full Microsoft Office 365 Suite, Teams, Zoom, Citrix ShareFile, Adobe Acrobat Pro, PACER, and Trial Director.  Experience with Clio and Asana a plus.

  • Strong analytical skills and a high attention to detail.
  • Excellent organization and planning capabilities.
  • Ability to learn new subject matter quickly.

LawCrossing has the most listings of any job board I have used. It's actually a great site. The website had a lot of detail. It’s nice that you don't have to go through a recruiter if you don't want to. You can actually contact the law firm directly for the positions listed. LawCrossing had a ton of great features.
