Paralegal The candidate will support the counsel by handling a wide variety of tasks and projects to help identify and mitigate risk. Will draft and negotiate a range of commercial contracts within guidelines provided by counsel and finance on a wide variety of matters including confidentiality, consulting, material transfer, clinical trial, vendor services and master agreements, agreements with academic institutions and other collaborative or partnering agreements. Follow up with internal clients, counsel, and external parties from the time the contracting request is received through resolution/execution to ensure shortest cycle times and escalate contracting delays and issues to counsel. Responsible for management of contract template selection process; categories of requisite information to be captured in company contracting systems and ensure compliance with procedures for contract drafting, negotiation, and execution. Drive process improvements related to the company contracting system and other department processes. Update playbooks for company contracts and contract templates including confidentiality and other commercial contracts. Understand, comply with, and educate internal clients on all relevant procedures and policies. Work cross-functionally to develop training and processes to ensure timely and efficient development, review, and archiving of marketing and promotional materials. Conduct legal, regulatory, and other pertinent research as needed by counsel. Provide legal support to counsel in the drafting of legal and business communications. Review and respond as appropriate to routine communications and requests from internal customers. Assist counsel in development and monitoring of the department budget. Responsible for tracking and paying legal fees. Provide periodic status reports to counsel.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Must have 0-3 years of experience and paralegal certification. In-house legal experience is preferred. Experience with healthcare law or compliance is desired. Experience with cross-functional teams and demonstrated ability to partner effectively with others to address complex compliance and operational issues is needed. Ability to collaborate effectively with people at many levels and different areas essential.
