Senior Counsel & Manager, System Legal Duties: In collaboration with supervising attorneys, serves as an internal point of contact/legal advisor for business partners requiring support related to physician arrangements, contracts or other transactions and provides practical and timely solutions to supervising attorneys and business partners as requested. Understands and applies policies and procedures related to contracts and matters assigned. Prepares negotiation documents, terms sheets, and other supporting materials reflecting knowledge of contract terms and details, organization’s policies, and legal requirements for compliance with applicable laws and regulations in collaboration and under oversight of supervising attorneys. Supports contract review and drives, executes, and finalizes all documentation and negotiation required for contract closure by reaching agreement with employee, client and/or other third parties on various contractual and/or physician employment issues. Understands business requirements and the organization’s risk tolerance. Expected to have and continue to develop strong knowledge and subject matter expertise in applicable, federal, state, and local laws including strategic legal analysis and guidance to the organization related to assigned areas and projects or matters as requested on a case-by-case basis.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Illinois Bar Admission. Admission to Bar of another state will also be considered. 3-5 years of relevant and/or progressive experience at a law firm or in-house legal department, preferably within the health care industry including transaction experience. Strong domain knowledge and interpersonal skills. Ability to plan and execute strategic initiatives. Ability to negotiate and manage stakeholders. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong negotiation skills.
