Patent Counsel The candidate will work closely with the Patent Product Area, Transactions, and IP Litigation teams to provide a deep understanding of firm’s patent portfolio for different use cases, and will work closely with other team members to address a variety of patent threats. Will develop and implement firm's strategy to protect, defend and capture the value of its patents. Dive into varied and interesting tasks that include patent-related protection, licensing, dispute resolution (pre-litigation and litigation), acquisitions, and divestitures. Eligibility to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, or another patent office is needed. Must be admitted to the Bar in which the role is located in and are in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the role is located. Should have 5+ years of experience as a practicing patent attorney. Should preferably have 6 years of relevant patent-related in-house and firm work experience, including experience in strategic patent portfolio development, patent preparation/prosecution, opinions, patent licensing, and patent litigation/enforcement. Knowledge of industry tools and resources to analyze portfolios is preferred. Solid understanding of the Internet and the architecture, software, and businesses surrounding it is preferred. Strong interpersonal and team skills; demonstrated ability to manage projects are preferred.
