Temporary Public Affairs Specialist Duties: The candidate develops modern and engaging multimedia content that promotes public awareness of the organization and supports the recruiting mission using appropriate virtual communication tools to reach the intended audience. Utilizes multiple social media platforms as well as social media management tools to convey information and publicize the organizations mission. Monitors army recruiting social media pages throughout the specified unit for appropriate, professional content and provide feedback and advice to page managers based on analysis of the contents effectiveness. Writes a variety of articles and social media posts conveying information and clarifying the Agency operations, programs and activities to specialized audiences and the general public. Produces quality stories, photos, graphics and video products that educate the intended audience about Army opportunities and benefits and correct misperceptions about service.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: The candidate must have 1 year of specialized experience which includes; includes Applying modern industry techniques to create engaging, effective multimedia content for use on various social media platforms similar to Spredfast, HootSuite, Buffer, Likeable Hub or Social Pilot; Utilize the three major social media disciplines such as; social listening, social analytics and social engagement while managing the social media program of a brand, product, individual or organization; Assist with creating multimedia content using a combination of writing, graphic design, photo manipulation and video editing skills and software. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07) OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. Note 1: This is a contract job of up to 13 months. Note 2: This job is open to federal employees - competitive service; current or former competitive service federal employees; individuals with disabilities; military spouses; veterans; career transition (CTAP, ICTAP, RPL); federal employees who meet the definition of a surplus or displaced employee; family of overseas employees; and family members of a federal employee or uniformed service member who is, or was, working overseas.
