Tax Senior - Private Equity Tax Operations EY is looking for a Tax Senior to join its Private Equity Tax Operations team in the US West Region. The successful candidate will have the chance to join a dynamic and fast growing sector, and will be responsible for managing all tax projects and teaming with specialists throughout the private equity portfolio companies’ lifecycle. Job Responsibilities - Manage all tax projects - Team with specialists throughout the private equity portfolio companies’ lifecycle - Work through all the tax reporting implications of the transaction - Track purchase accounting - Work with debt transactions - Model cash taxes - Support client engagements by coordinating day-to-day interactions with clients - Review staff work product - Drive delivery of services to meet deadlines - Develop internal team members - Manage engagement economics - Continuously build on technical competence - Identify and resolve tax technical issues - Partner with other team members to help identify new opportunities - Provide corporate, partnership and international tax advice and guidance tailored to clients’ unique needs - Keep up to date with ongoing trends and changes to legislation - Supervise high-performing teams - Develop the technical and soft skills of junior colleagues - Build relationships at all levels both internally and externally - Prepare practical recommendations to clients’ most complex tax issues Requirements - and approximately two years of related work experience - CPA certification or licensed attorney status or eligible and working to obtain - Background in tax compliance and accounting for income tax - Broad understanding of US income taxation - Experience managing budgets and projects - Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access and data mining tools - Proven record in a professional services environment - Experience in coaching and mentoring junior colleagues - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail - Ability to adapt work style to work with both internal and client team members Salary The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $ 73,800 to $121,700. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $88,600 to $138,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
