Senior Counsel, Labor and Employment
Duties: Provide general labor and employment law counseling and strategic litigation management. Assist with internal investigations. Confer with management and make recommendations regarding matters such as investigations, wage and hour compliance, employee benefits, labor relations, disability leave laws, workplace harassment, employee discrimination, discipline, and termination. Lead arbitration negotiations with the Union and prepare position statements in response to agency claims. Communicate with and direct outside counsel on employment-related litigation matters. Understand business requirements and the company’s risk tolerance. Assist in developing and implementing standard policies and procedures.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: JD from an accredited law school and current admission to Illinois Bar (or comparable). Previous years of employment and litigation experience (either employment or commercial), possessing expertise in a broad array of employment issues; a combination of law firm and in-house experience preferred. Working Knowledge in federal, state, and local labor and employment regulations.
