Assistant Counsel, 30087-02 Duties:The candidate will serve as an attorney within the agency’s Bureau of Legal Affairs, providing advice and counsel to organization’s management and staff on legal matters affecting organization’s operations with a focus on matters pertaining to the New York City Watershed including, among other things, the interpretation and enforcement of the City’s Watershed Rules and Regulations and other city, state and federal statutes, rules and regulations. Will undertake assignments, as required, involving representation of the agency in contract, environmental and other litigation and administrative proceedings, interpretation of federal and state laws applicable to agency operations; and drafting new agency laws and regulations.
Qualification and Experience
Qualification : The candidate should have admission to the New York State Bar. Should have 1+ year of satisfactory United States legal experience subsequent to admission to any state Bar; or 6+months of satisfactory service as an Agency Attorney Interne (30086). Must remain Members of the New York State Bar in good standing for the duration of this employment. Level (AL) II, Must have 1+ year of experience at Assignment Level I or 2+ years of comparable legal experience subsequent to admission to the bar, in the areas of law related to the assignment. AL III: Must have 2+ years of experience in Assignment Levels I and/or II or 3+ years of comparable legal experience subsequent to admission to the Bar, in the areas of law related to the assignment. 2+ years of relevant United States legal experience subsequent to admission to the Bar is preferred.
