Saint Louis office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks patent agent with 1-3 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution in the electrical arts. The candidate will draft and globally prosecute patent applications primarily in electrical, computer science, and business method fields. Will interface with inventors. Coordinate and correspond with foreign law firms to file and prosecute foreign patent applications. Coordinate and correspond with clients for processing and legalization of formal documents for filing in U.S. and foreign patent offices. Review country requirements and obtain Foreign Filing Licenses where needed. Maintain client portfolio and provide client with estimates of costs for future filings and maintenance. Assist in the Firm's standardized procedures to enhance malpractice prevention. Prepare and send notices to clients regarding upcoming deadlines. Correspond with foreign law firms regarding filings, deadlines, and billings. Anticipate supervising partner or client needs for specific projects. Delegate effectively and as appropriate with Paralegals or Legal Administrative Assistants. Design, recommend, and implement new processes and procedures to increase group efficiency. Take on special projects, as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Must have a Bachelor's degree, higher degree, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree and/or work experience. Should preferably have U.S. Patent and Trademark Office registration (or ability to qualify) and domestic and international patent prosecution experience. Law firm or in-house Intellectual Property experience is preferred.
