ProfileAssistant City Attorney I (Prosecutor) The candidate prepares and represents the State in cases on criminal and civil dockets and in criminal trials in the municipal court room. Serves as a liaison with police, code enforcement, animal services, school officials, clerks, judges and defense attorneys regarding disposition of class â€œCâ€ cases. Work is performed with general direction, working from broad goals and policies. Responds to and resolves citizen inquiries that have a legal. Prepares legal briefs and argues criminal cases and/or municipal court appeals. Performs other duties as assigned. Must have Juris Doctorate Degree. Should have 2 years of experience in a municipality practicing law. Requires a License from the Texas State Bar. Must have the knowledge of: Criminal law principles; Community resources; State and municipal ordinance prosecution principles: Court methods and procedures; Legal theory; Legal terminology.
