Contract Specialist The candidate responsibilities include reviewing, negotiating and drafting clinical trial agreements, amendments and related documents, interacting with clinical trial sponsors and sites on contract and operational issues, and various other initiatives and projects to support the research contracting process. Work through a diverse scope of contracting issues where analysis may require identification and evaluation of many relevant potential factors. Consults on legal provisions within contracts. Identifies, analyzes, researches and resolves legal and business process issues and makes appropriate recommendations. Identifies risk, determines the level of risk and routes appropriately. Works independently and is able to assess when to seek guidance of company attorneys. Communicates and observes timelines regarding completion of contracts. Handles multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, changing business environment.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have 2-year Associates degree and/or Paralegal Certificate with 6+ years related work experience, or 4-year degree (preferred) with 4+ years related work experience or J.D. with 1+ years related work experience. Experience in contract negotiating and drafting is required. Should have experience in the healthcare or life sciences industry with a comprehensive understanding of clinical research. Experience in the healthcare or life sciences industry with a comprehensive understanding of clinical research is required. Familiarity with a site management organization (SMO) model is a plus. Should have 1+ years’ experience drafting and reviewing contracts related to clinical trial research or other research involving human subjects. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail. Familiarity with a site management organization (SMO) model is a plus.
