Civil Litigation Attorney Responsibilities: Taking depositions of parties and witnesses. Conducting discovery. Performing legal research. Remaining current with developments in the law. Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents. Evaluating complex injury and liability issues. Working with expert witnesses. Communicating with clients, insurers, opposing counsel and courts. Appearing and arguing at hearings, bench and jury trials: first and second chair.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: A law degree from an ABA accredited law school. Licenses in Missouri and Kansas. Advanced knowledge of substantive and procedural law. Detail oriented. Strong written and oral advocacy skills. Analytical and logical reasoning abilities. Ability to synthesize complex legal and factual materials. Superior interpersonal skills. Client development skills. Ability to handle large caseloads and juggle multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent negotiation skills. Be able to work efficiently with corporate professionals. Be committed to consistently excellent performance. Computer skills preferred, including Word, Excel, Practice Management system – this office is paperless. Professionalism. Openness, honesty and exceptional communication skills.
