A growing law firm in Roswell, GA, is seeking an experienced Senior Attorney specializing in personal injury litigation. This role involves representing clients in personal injury, medical malpractice, and wrongful death cases. The ideal candidate will have strong trial experience, excellent legal research and negotiation skills, and the ability to mentor junior associates. The Senior Attorney will manage a high-volume caseload while leading a legal team to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
Location
Duties
- Conduct legal research on case law, premises liability, and gather relevant insurance policies, medical records, and other evidence.
- Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients when appropriate.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to a team of legal assistants, paralegals, case managers, and legal secretaries.
- Assess potential personal injury claims and provide legal advice to prospective clients.
- Interview clients, witnesses, expert witnesses, insurance adjusters, and medical providers to collect necessary information.
- Stay updated on local, state, and federal statutes and applicable laws.
- Provide counsel to associates to resolve or prevent conflicts.
- Draft pleadings, briefs, motions, and conduct legal research.
- Prepare for and attend trials, mediation, and arbitration hearings.
- Oversee the preparation of legal documents such as motions, pleadings, notices, and discovery requests and responses.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing with the Georgia State Bar.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in personal injury litigation, trial work, or civil litigation.
- Trial, mediation, and arbitration representation experience required.
- Superior research, negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of personal injury law, wrongful death, tort law, civil and family law, medical terminology, and medical malpractice.
- Ability to manage a heavy caseload with minimal supervision.
- 5 years of experience as a senior associate or attorney in the legal field preferred.
Education
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Bachelor's degree required.
Certifications
- Active membership with the State Bar of Georgia.
