Job Overview:

A law firm seeks a Senior Income Tax Associate Attorney with 6+ years of substantive tax experience, particularly in transactional tax. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, and other related areas, with significant client contact and leadership of junior associates and paralegals.

Duties:

  • Lead the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, structuring, and negotiation.
  • Manage tax planning and compliance for pass-through entities and C-Corporations.
  • Provide guidance on QSBS and irrevocable trust structuring.
  • Handle tax planning and structuring for family office planning and real estate ventures.
  • Assist in estate planning transactions and internal restructurings.
  • Advise on tax implications of litigation and employment disputes.
  • Collaborate with team members while managing significant individual responsibilities.
  • Supervise and mentor junior associates and paralegals.
  • Maintain significant client contact, providing exceptional service and building strong client relationships.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of substantive tax experience with an emphasis on transactional tax.
  • Experience leading tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions and real estate transactions.
  • Significant client contact experience.
  • Proven ability to manage junior associates and paralegals.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Strong written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment while handling individual responsibilities.
  • Large firm experience is preferred.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California is required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • . in Taxation is preferred.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of California.
