General Manager The candidate will be responsible for managing the performance management metrics used to report internally and to the Chief Operating Officer. Duties include: auditing data submitted from all offices; managing presentations presented to the Mayorâ€™s office during updates and developing and managing employees. Directs oversight and supervision of the design and development team. Coaches and develops team members. Plans new programming projects with staff to solve City infrastructure problems. Provides mentoring and code review. Mentors team members on best practices, methodologies and techniques. Provides overall program management support to include functional and technical conditions; resolution of issues; training and change management. Provides day-to-day operational control, tracks project plan milestones, manages risks and approves project deliverables. Manages specific projects including development and tracking of project milestones, deliverables and budgets. Manages Program Management office staff and activities. Holds regular staff meetings. Communicates project status, technology direction and team health to senior management. Researches and evaluates new technologies coming to market and their potential application to strategies and business plans. Oversees and responds to all media relations questions. Prepares quarterly reports for City Council and Mayor. Prepares status reports for Senior Level Officials/Management. Establishes, utilizes and manages outsourced development vendors and services. Identifies critical risk factors, along with mitigation tactics, takes initiative where required to ensure uninterrupted project and service delivery. Oversees responsibility for delivery of detail for each project delivered. Ensures proper hand-off of completed to various support teams, including documentation and knowledge transfer sessions. Supervises intake and investigation of complaints made by the public. Collaborate with team leads on project support objectives. Manages the daily work and correspondence and organizes monthly meetings. Responds to all requests made by the public. Recommends policy or strategy changes; decides on best utilization of staff resources provided. May make purchasing or resource allocation decisions within organization guidelines.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have Bachelorâ€™s degree in project/public administration, management, civil engineering, environmental engineering or related field. Should have 5-8 years' of related of experience in project planning and administration or related area. Should preferably have Masterâ€™s or Juris Doctorate degree in; project/public administration, management, civil engineering, environmental engineering, law or closely related field and 10 years' of experience, project planning and administration or related area is preferred.
