Paralegal The candidate will assist General Counsel in corporate and transactional matters involving revising and formatting documents, preparing initial drafts of contracts, legal research, review of regulations related to the residential mortgage industry, scheduling, coordinating meetings and appointments, interfacing with title and settlement companies, file and policy management, maintenance of corporate records. Utilize strong organizational, problem solving, researching, writing, editing and proofreading skills. Draft and review contracts and other corporation documents for standard terms and conditions utilizing Word, Lexis, Power Point, Excel, Outlook and comparable systems. Schedule and coordinate meetings and appointments for the department/General Counsel. Maintain corporate records, files, and policies related to the Legal/Compliance department. Resolve simple legal issues under the direction of counsel. Monitor federal and state regulations related to the residential mortgage industry such as HMDA, RESPA, TRID and ECOA. Identify relevant judicial decisions, statutes, legal articles, codes and other pertinent material. Help prepare legal arguments, applications, declarations and motions. Work independently in fast-paced work environment while maintaining constant focus on producing an excellent and accurate work product. Provide support to corporate counsel in various other projects that will impact the company. Perform administrative legal duties as required. Must have a bachelor's degree in any subject plus 5 years of paralegal experience in contract real-estate/corporate law, in house preferred. Must have knowledge about lease negotiation, financing options, lending requirements and documents, title and trust documents. Strong written and verbal communication skills are important in this specialty is required. Must have knowledge of residential mortgage loan transactions and procedures and be highly organized and able to track multiple task with demanding deadlines. Must be punctual and reliable.
