Business Development Manager The candidate will work with BD Team Leader and other partner leaders for the Product Liability Practice and senior staff to help craft and execute a range of go-to-market strategies. Organize and drive client targeting program for supported areas, including prompting and monitoring pursuit activities, and tracking results and ROI. Will conduct strategic research on potential clients, competitors and Product Liability practice developments more broadly to identify business trends and opportunities and ensure that K&S is optimally positioned to grow market share. Draft materials and play a coordinating role in connection with pitches, RFPs and other new business opportunities. Craft and update marketing materials for the Product Liability team, including website content, brochures, lawyer biographies, at-a-glance documents, etc Identify and facilitate K&S participation in sponsorships, conferences, memberships and other key profile-building opportunities for the practice, office and individual lawyers in each. Coordinate Product Liability team partner meetings and facilitate internal communications and knowledge sharing. Coordinate firm-hosted business development events, including receptions, client entertainment outings, substantive presentations, webcasts, etc., working closely with participating lawyers and Marketing Dept. colleagues on invitation list development, event materials, participant tracking, on-site management and targeted follow-up activities. Manage legal directory and league ranking submissions, and assist the PR team in the generation of matters and other information for awards submissions. Oversee the upkeep and compilation of matter lists for the Product Liability team. Manage the maintenance of client and target contact lists. Assist lawyers on the development of their individual business plans. Compile periodic reports on business development activity and results within the office. Assist with coordination of the Product Liability team marketing budget: assist with vetting big-ticket requests and analyzing marketing expenses and effectiveness thereof. Serve as the primary contact for Product Liability business development and marketing requestsQualification and Experience
The candidate should have Undergraduate degree. JD degree or MBA is preferred. Must have strong background in litigation and 7+ years’ experience in a business development or marketing role within a law firm or similar professional services environment. Must have excellent project management skills, with keen attention to detail and an ability to prioritize and execute multiple ongoing tasks often under tight deadlines. Must be proficient in the use of a variety of applications such as to, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, website CRM platforms and Interaction (or other CRM databases) -- facility with HTML and graphic design applications is beneficial. Strong and effective written and verbal communications skill is essential.
