A law firm in Austin, TX, is seeking a Mid-Level Life Sciences Health Industry Associate Attorney with experience in health care regulatory matters. The candidate will communicate directly with clients, providing clear and concise legal advice through live discussions and written communication. They will conduct risk-based analyses of complex regulatory concepts, understand clients’ business objectives, operations, and strategies to provide creative and practical legal guidance that ensures compliance with laws and regulations while meeting business needs. Collaboration with colleagues specializing in FDA compliance, litigation, technology transactions, and health care privacy is essential. The ideal candidate should have experience with Federal health care programs, reimbursement, billing compliance, internal and government investigations, False Claims Act litigation, medtech industry regulatory frameworks, risk assessment, Anti-Kickback Statute compliance, and market access strategies.
Duties:
- Communicate directly with internal and external clients through live discussions and clear, concise written legal advice.
- Provide risk-based analyses of complex regulatory concepts and offer practical guidance to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Gain insight into clients’ business objectives, operations, and strategies to deliver creative and practical legal solutions.
- Efficiently manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Collaborate closely with teams specializing in FDA compliance, litigation, technology transactions, and health care privacy.
- Handle health care regulatory matters including Medicare/Medicaid enrollment, reimbursement, billing compliance, internal and government investigations, False Claims Act litigation, medtech industry regulatory frameworks, risk assessment, Anti-Kickback Statute compliance, and market access strategies.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Texas Bar or eligibility for admission.
- 3-6 years of experience in health care regulatory matters, preferably in a law firm or relevant industry setting.
- Strong understanding of Federal health care programs, reimbursement issues, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Certifications and Skills:
