A law firm in Columbus, OH is seeking a Mid-level Intellectual Property Litigation Associate Attorney to strengthen their IP litigation team. The successful candidate will bring a technical background in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering, combined with strong academic credentials and excellent writing and research skills. With 4-6 years of experience in intellectual property litigation, the ideal candidate will handle complex IP cases and contribute to all phases of litigation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex intellectual property litigation matters, including patents, trademarks, and trade secrets.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct detailed legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies.
  • Oversee discovery processes, including document review, production, and deposition preparation.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and settlement discussions.
  • Develop and implement litigation strategies in collaboration with clients and legal teams.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior attorneys and legal support staff.
  • Stay current on developments in intellectual property law and relevant technological advancements.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in intellectual property litigation.
  • Preferably has a technical background in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering.
  • Strong academic credentials with demonstrated excellence in legal research and writing.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex cases simultaneously.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Technical degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering is highly preferred.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Ohio Bar or eligibility for admission is required.
